Sitting in Seminyak trying to enjoy a quiet drink and the damn fire crackers going off all around are making me jump out of my skin! Have had them thrown at my feet when walking and have been kept awake until all hours for the last week. Friends at Legian experiencing the same. My tailor nearly lost his hand a few months ago letting them off - had to have his thumb sewn back on, which in Bali would not have been a happy experience! It seems much worse this year than previous years and wonder how long it will take until a tourist is badly hurt/killed. I am all for celebrating the New Year...but wish they would save it for NYE and ignite them safely!
