donating kids clothes to driver

I am heading over in July and have a heap of kids clothes. The driver I usually use has a small bub and another young fella. He has never cried poor or asked for anything. I would love to give him these clothes but not sure if he would see it as me feeling sorry for him or if everyone in Bali would appreciate this???? Any suggestions?
