Another thing to consider is that in the event of injury while riding a bike without the appropriate licences then your insurance (if you have it) may be invalid. In the case of serious injury then the Rp100,000 may very well be $100,000 at you expense. I often wonder when I see the walking wounded with crutches and bandages, and there are many. You don't get to see the serious cases. Wheelchairs and Bali footpaths are an issue.
