When i hear these comments, be they on a forum, or chatting to a person i have met - i always respond using the same example, that being age of consent.
I ask this:
Say an Italian man in his 30's/40's travels to australia and proceeds to have a sexual relationship with your 14 year old daughter. Do you want him to be punished under australian law for having sex with a minor, or should he walk free because if he had been in italy he wouldnt have been commiting any offence?
Naturally - the usualy reply is he should be punished, because he is in our country. So should obide by our rules.
Its then very easy to point out that they have just contradicted themselves. At the very least it makes them think about their opinion.
