Hi mk, just a note. If you want to remove the sim you need a tool ( or thin paper clip etc)
Also, the iPhone 4 takes a micro sim not a regular sim.
Suggest you get a v small snap lock plastic bag, remove the sim b4 you turn on phone after plane trip. Put it in the bag and decide where you will keep it whilst not in use. You will want it on return to home.
But before you put it away, take it with you when you go to buy the local sim, to ensure you get the right sim. The staff will probably install and setup for you but better to be clear before you get started at the shop.
Now put your home (postpaid) sim away safely.
With the local sim installed you do not need to ensure intl roaming off. But beware all the apps that can use data very quickly. Recommend you get acquainted with your apps and if need be, put data to manual fetch in options. That way you can control how often you access the network.
All the best.
