over the last six or seven years have put excessive strain on all services in Bali including water, electricity, sewerage, roads, land etc.
I guess that if people really wanted to try to contribute less to the demand on these services they would shower less or for shorter times, stay in places without pools, turn all A/C off every time they leave the room (or at least turn the things down and/or close windows and doors), walk instead of getting transport and utilise many other "environmentally friendly" initiatives.
I guess that the aviation fuel burn off on landing and taking off is also a contributor......so maybe don't go is the answer??!!
Of course in general practice none of these things is going to happen because people are on holiday and have "paid for the facilities anyway" so are entitled to use as they see fit.
Signage in bathrooms may just tweak some conciences, but generally people just don't care.
Maybe those overseas and Indonesian companies that are cashing in at the moment may want to consider contributing to additional power generation (I am sure that geothermal is an option for Bali) and to general improvements as required.....but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the first unsolicited contribution.
