Arrives in the Isle of Smiles at about 2pm yesterday after our Jetstar flight from Perth was delayed half an hour (We were left to sit on the plane while they put more fuel in due to bad weather in Bali). Got away OK and flight was uneventful.
Infuriated at the VOA Counter, we raced off the plane as always and managed to be number 2 in the line for immigration to find that the american asian couple in front of us decided to not fill out ANY paperwork until reaching the counter (Cus u know, when you're sitting on the plane with the form you are so busy), so we stood around for ages waiting for them to do that while people flooded out around us - so frustrating
Also got messed around with Transport from airport, booked transfer through a highly recommended driver on here, turns out he thought it was OK to book us transport to be with another family group and expect us to wait around for them to come in and we all share transport. NOT what I booked and was never told in advanced, was extremely disappointed in this, in 9+ trips to Bali over the last few years I've never had a bad driver until this. If I wanted a bus I would have caught one, I won't put his details in here though will certainly not be recommending him.
Weather is OK, a little drizzly most of the afternoon but didn't stop us walking around and changing money etc.
Changed money at 9130 in Seminyak, Went to Kuta later in the evening to find rate was less there around 9100 for reputable changers.
Staying at Yarravillas in Seminyak (Right behind Bintang Supermarket) - absolutely incredible facilities, exactly as we'd expected and so happy with it, will post up review and photos to trip advisor later in the trip :)
