I still find it hard to believe that some people still have this "the only ripoff people in Bali are from other places," rose coloured glasses, attitute.
This is an urban legend.
Friends have owned bars in Bali & have experianced many instances of "Saintly" Made or Katut trying to rip off their profits.
We tourists are seen as "super rich" by a fair % of the population & as such are fair game for any way of separating us from our ill gotten gains. Including the antics of Kuta cowboys who suck in some unsophisticated Aussie girls!
As long as we are aware of the rules- Game On !!!
