I have never done it myself, just use good old trusty locks, electricians tape and carry anything of any value (to me) on my self/carryon.
My brother-in-law had a laptop CASE stolen out of his suitcase on the way to Jo'berg. All they got was the case and some biltong. They must have seen the outline on the xray and thought BINGO. No interest was shown when he reported it to staff. He was most upset about his biltong and snacks, the case was for a work colleague.
On the other hand if you are worried about things GOING INTO your luggage and if you feel that your locks and tamper tags wont do the trick, then by all means wrap. Tis your peace of mind afterall, no one elses.
