Virgin - Excess Luggage

We are travelling MLB/DPS next month and have prepaid for the 23kg. luggage allowance.
How strict are they on the return flight and how much are we up for if we are a few kgs over? (a few!!- I'm an optimist!)

Love to hear of anyones experiences with Virgin. Thanks.
