If you could take the time to provide what sort of hotel standard and price range it would be helpful.
Lombok is a large island (similar to Bali) and has different options.
e.g.
Kuta lombok in the south - check out Novotel. Beautiful beaches, but quiet. Kuta will see massive development over the next few years so worth seeing before it becomes something else. The area is renowned for surfing and beautiful beaches.
Sempiak Villas in Selong Belanak is stunning, very quiet and isolated location. Top rates cafe on the beach. No nightlife what-so-ever as there are no other developments in the area.
Sekotong area - also beautiful white sand beaches, diving, snorkelling. Numerous small islands (Gili) off the coast. The area is under-developed, and again will change dramatically in the future.
Senggigi area - the most 'developed' on Lombok, but still quite laid back and nothing like development in Bali. Numerous hotel options from basic to luxury, also villas available.
The Senggigi area encompasses Batu Bolong just south of the main strip, and Mangsit 4 km north. Lots of nice boutique hotels in Mangsit such as Qunci Villas.
Further north are some great new developments like Jeeva Klui, very nice hotel on lovely sweeping bay which looks across to Bali in the distance (great sunsets with Agung silloutte).
