Just got back from 8 days in Bali. We were only there in June, but this time went with my husband, so was a different sort of holiday than when I went with my daughter and others. We had 4 nights at the Peninsular Beach Resort. I had never stayed over this side before and was quite surprised with all that was around. I imagined it to be a little deserted and not much around, but there were plenty of restaurants around if you didn't want to eat at the hotel, which we didn't. Had a snack around the pool and a couple of drinks buts that's all. Loved the pool area. We ate at The Tree and 2Day Restaurant and a couple of others close by. We did the Bintang Bike tour. They picked us up from PBR and took us up to Kintamini. 500,000 rp for the two of us. I hadn't ridden a bike for 20 years, so falling off only twice was ok. Didn't hurt myself though, only my pride ha ha. They really look after you though and you can get in the van when you want. It was all down hill, your hands got sore holding on to the brakes. Only a couple of hills, which I was in the van then, so didn't bother me. After that we sayed at the Pulman Nirwana, the new hotel on the corner of Melasti and the Beach Road. It was a gorgeous hotel, the room was really good and I loved the bathroom with separate shower and bath tub and separate toilet.
At all around the hotel, Garlic Lane and Padma Streets mainly. Even though we are Advantage Plus members of Accor (which Pulman is part of) you get 50% discount on food, I thought it was extremely expensive for Bali. Breakfast was 170,000 rp. We never ate once at the hotel and especially with the 21% taxes on top. Not much to report really, just had a relaxing holiday and enjoyed the warm weather.
