Been back a week and things must be good as I have many friends in Bali set to have babies. Just walking the streets I noticed many pregnant locals. Enjoyed my time in Bali as usual even though it was a shorter trip this time. Usual Aussie bogans to contend with (nothing changes). Venturing out prices on beer varies and discovered Sam Migel Light. I thought wtf are they selling light beer in Bali. Well further investigation I discovered it's not light beer but what we refer to as low carb. Still 4.9% and priced ok. Did not get as bloated as when I drink the Bintang. Plenty of great Aussie Bars going and visited Sheppys many times. Tried Moomoos and that was great. Went back to Kori since I had not been there since 2004 and had the ribs on the menu. I can tell you that was the best feed I had. Ventured to all my little cheap eateries and love the Nase Goreng. They have been watching masterchef I tell you as the presentation these days is awesome. My Balinese has picked up but a little can be dangerous. With the respect I show the locals and staff where I stay I always get looked after. It cost you nothing to be nice is the way I see it.

Downside is the Western Development is accelerating each year and Bali is starting to look like Queensland. The price we pay I guess. My main concern is with the increase in tourists the infrastructure cannot cope. I do not see the Government spending money on sewer works etc. The money seems to be just sucked out of Bali. Well that is my perception anyway.

Back at work saving for next year for a 30 day trip in 2012.

Be safe, 8 people a day are dying on the roads in Bali.
