we always get ripped off here at money changers as we have to pay a fee plus accept a much lower rate than on the streets of bali.

i cant see see the aussie $ dropping much between now and when you leave for bali. As long as aussie dollar is a match for the US$ or over i think its a great rate and still a great exchange in bali

the recommended money changers over there are the BMC and the old kodak shop next door to the dynasty, (it has a new name now) avoid the street ones, as they offer a higher rate but they try and short change you. the above mentioned ones are authorized and very honest. i feel guilty counting my money in front of them.

our currency is always good in bali, so i dont think you have anything to worry about.

if you also want to avoid exchange frees here from aussie $ to US $ you can pay your visa on arrival in aussie $ too.

have a great time in bali!
