Keep an eye on the Bali Spirit website under 'Houses and Homes' for rent.
Have never used them but if you like Ubud i have seen some very cheap deals advertised at times.
Because you are staying for a month or more you might be able to negotiate a rate very close to your budget.
Eg at the moment there's an advertisement for an a/c 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and staffed villa with pool in Ubud for "Mid Season (Jan 09 - May 31, Sept 30 - Dec 15) " with all the mod cons for $490 for 7 nights.
