It was so disgusting, I felt ill and quite emotional.
I will confess that I am a meat lover, however, as hypocritical as this may be, I would hate to think that I am contributing to this inhumane and disgusting treatment of these animals.
I was just chatting to my husband this morning and saying that I am now so upset that I was actively looking for a good steak in Bali.
The farmer being interviewed said the cattle industry is working hard with the indonesians to "train" them better. It seems to me that you don't need training to know that kicking a dying cow in the head is not appropriate.
Would be interested to see if the Aus cattle industry/body responsible for exports could use some type of certification for approved abitoirs (sp?), similar to the fair trade coffee....
I am now off the read meat - while in indonesia:( But now I'm worried about the chickens!
