Experience tells me that some reviews on TripAdvisor are planted and fairly obvious - take Amore Villas for example in Canggu. Everything according to most reviews is perfect there - but lately a sudden rush of very positive reviews (lately many in bahasa Indonesia too) for what is a nice place BUT serious security issues there - we learnt from bitter experience a few months back and funnily enough our reviews are being removed and replaced by totally out of this world reviews. It is always a good idea to write to the people who post these reviews and ask for more information - when were they there, etc.
