If your appointment in Clayton is at the Monash medical centre??? the Clayton train station is actually only a short walk down the road from the hospital..
From Clayton station you can get the train to Flinders street and then one of the many trams heading down St Kilda road towards Albert Rd.
The closest accommodation to the Clayton train station would be the Clayton Monash Motor Inn and Serviced appartments. It too is only a short walk to the hospital, (but in the opposite direction).
If you give me a little more information as to the exact place eg. names of the clinics you will be visiting id be more than happy to help you be a bit more precise.
