I'd have to say that anyone who feels there is no or little risk there is fooling themselves. Only last week a mosque in a police compound was bombed by a suicide bomber. One Muslim sect has been hounded almost out of existance by others. These are happening regularly in Indonesia. That's a matter of fact.
Will killing Bin Laden create a martyr and inspire revenge attacks? I don't know, but my gut feeling is 'you betcha'.
Would it stop me travelling? No, but I have long accepted that a level of risk is an intrinsic part of travel. I would have been involved in the Mumbai tragedy, if we'd traveled the year we'd intended to originally, and the day after my husband visited Hendon police station, there was a 'small' bomb (whatever that may be).
I'm not suggesting either to travel or not, but we all need to weigh up the risks in life of whatever we choose to do or not to do. Life, after all is a gamble.
