Tegalalang is is very long stretch with long distances between shops - no way you could walk it. No comparison with shopping on the coastal tourist strip. Get a driver from, say 10 til 2 for about Rp200K. Drive along the road almost to Kintimani (my fave place is one of the last ones on a corner on the left), looking. Drive back & stop at places you fancy. Have a lovely lunch at Kampung Cafe. The scenery there, & en route, is spectacular in places. It's a lovely trip.
