use the normal phone sim card, it takes quite a bit of your credit or you can get a data and phone sim card. Not sure on costs, I just used my normal Bali sim card as I didn't access the internet for too long a periods.
A hint have your phone enabled to write letters in NOTES then send via email, that way you are not on the internet when actually composing your letter.
Use free wifi as much as possible obviously.
