Fantastic time on New Years Eve , spent the last 2 there with friends. Beach gets very crowded but only makes for more fun. As always be careful and be aware of what is going on around you.Poppies 1 and Poppies 2 get very very crowded, first time I have ever been in a people crush. Can be quite scary. Buy some fireworks so you can join in the festivities because you can not do this at home in Australia. An 8 shot 1.5" tube should cost about 60000rph ($10). Would love to go back again this coming New Year. Better than Australia Day on the Perth foreshore. The hotels and some clubs on the beach front let fireworks go and the hotels have entertainment for the families leading up to midnight.
