Spent xmas / nye 2009 in Bali at the Barong Hotel in Poppies II. We had a great time in the hotel & up & down the lane leading up to midnight. Legian St is closed off to traffic and people are walking all over the place. Down the beach at Kuta & Legian there are multitudes and generally well behaved but we did hear of several people having money, bags, scooter keys etc stolen, so if you go to the beach, take little valuables with you and keep a close eye or hold on them.
