Hi,
Just a quickish JBR about our 10yr Wedding Vow Renewal and holiday.
We are Bali regulars from Perth, Me and Hubby aprox 25 trips and kids are 9 and 8yrs old and thier 17th trip...
Flew airasia which I reckon are very good, always prompt etc seating good (good enough for 3andbit hours). I took on board 2 gowns and they stored them in pilots (?) cabin, one girl said no sorry and then guy behind me was carrying suit bags he asked another girl and she took mine and his and stored so that was a bit strange. We had row 1 and it was 4.50am flight...kids handled it well, was nice seeing the sunrise whilst eating pancakes with coffee flying...
We arrived at Holiday Inn Tuban at 9am and we upgraded from Grand Ocean Suite to King Baruna, well worth the extra $$$.
We love this hotel for location, rooms, pool, service, facilities etc...each to thier own yeah?
To me the beds are very very comfy, we had 2 large balconies over looking pool, it was perfect and excellent space for a family of 4, 2 toilets, plasmas huge space.
I had pre arranged with hotel to organise our wedding vow ceremony, this was done with much ease, email contact with the girl in the Business and functions area was always replied to.
We chose a gazebo near the tee tree spa to have ceremony and tables and chairs were going to be set up there aswell for us to dine by candlelight but it was a drizzly afternoon so our tables were set up at the Palms restaurant, they used flowers from ceremony etc...
Our gazebo was decorated with white linen and flowers and it was just perfect. Our bouqets were done thru hotel aswell, perfect...
I found 3 great people in Bali...
Stacey from Bali Edge Hair and Makeup, what a little perfectionist and I loved the hair and make up she did for my daughter and I.
I met stacey before the ceremony a few days prior as she also does mobile spray tans, she stayed and chatted for an hour. She was prompt, friendly and knows what she is doing...I was so happy with my hair and makeup and my 8 yr old daughter..She is on facebook and our photos are there to view.
2nd was David and Lynne Photography, love these guys and our photos are magic, like stacey nothing was a hassle, contact via email was prompt and I met david and lynne the day of our ceremony. Lynne tailored a small package to suit "us" as we were not having a big ceremony, just intimate. I made sure i took thier bali mobile numbers from thier websites and once in bali i got a bali sim as we always do and made contact with them to make sure everything was ok.
Lynne also is a celebrant but we didnt need a legal ceremony so we put together a ceremony to suit us and our children both did readings, it was just beautiful to involve the kids and they loved it. My son is 9 and very tall, he held my hand whilst walking from the room thru the holdiay inn pool area to the gazebo, my daughter was my flower girl.
You can view our beautiful photos by looking at David and Lynne Photography Bali on Facebook...
Our ceremony was perfect, we chose a cake from Ixora Cakes in Seminyak, wow these guys dont disappoint, our cake was divine, we chose a big number 10, the 1 had the kids sitting on it and the 0 was a swimming pool with hubby and i sitting in it...very fun and bright and tasted beautiful...
Sorry If i am going on...
Cermony was for 30 min then lots of photos and fun and off to our dinner at restaurant, food was from Envy but we dined at Palms. Food was yummy as was service was spot on, our meal orders were taken day prior so once seated we didnt wait long. We dined for afew hours, lots eating, drinking and a lovely night, just what we wanted, in total there was approx 10 guests...
Other things we did during our stay was shopping at Centro, matahari etc, lots of swimming, relaxing etc.
We didnt venture to far in cabs as the traffic is getting worse so much construction going on and this trip we didnt want to be stuck in cabs, normally we nip up to legian and seminyak but couldnt be bothered this trip...
I purchasd wedding necklace and bracelet and shoes in matahari which were divine....
I had my daughters dress made by Cintya which was fabulous, made in 2 days, i took fabric over with me...
We ate at Green Garden Resort and Spa, gee these guys remember you all the time, they are so friendly, my favourite meal is cap cay..mmm the best...
We also dined at Ilcielo, (cringe you say - burger king) seriously they do better burgers than perth!!!, Pantai, Envy...
had a fair bit of rain this trip which is unusual for april, the street was flooded so bad the carpark to rama beach and foyer was gone underwater!!!
Before coming home i like to stock up on toothbrushes, lux body washes, found some gorgeous fruity soaps for 2000rp with apple kiwi orange strawberry etc all natural and oooh the smell...
We didnt do waterbom this time as kids have done it several times before, maybe next trip dolphins ? am in 2 minds???
Ok so i think i have woffled lots, we had a lovely ceremony, and we loved our stay at Holiday inn (our 5th stay). We are back in august...hope i havent bored you and i know i have forgotten things...
To me you either understand and love Bali or you just dont "get it"? its one or the other...am i right?? thanks for reading...Lisa
