We took a mixture of T/Cs and cash for our 2 month stay last year. However, we found it very difficult to change the T/Cs. We travelled right around Bali and most places would have nothing to do with them. Even in Ubud we traipsed from banks to moneychangers and when we found someone who would change them, there was an upper limit per day and the rate was much less. Fortunately we had enough cash with us and we ended up taking most of the T/Cs home. We had back-up debit and credit cards but never used them.
