Simpati Phone Cards cost n credit n code

Please assist with info - they are only there for a week
(yes I told them that they needed longer to get a real experience)

I sent friends, staying in Seminyak, with advice re getting Simpati phone cards to call each other and locally and back to Oz
they arrived yesterday and went to get the cards

they say -
'been to 2 "dealers" for sim cards and both say 135,000 for the sim and another 50000 for 50000 worth off credit.
Dealers said the deal for cheap calls to Australia is no longer on.
Tried to sell us one where it costs 135000 and about 25c a minute to ring locally and to Oz"

Questions;
Shouldn't they be able to buy sim and credit for 50,000 ?
Are the cheap calls to Oz still avail (see my advice below) ?
know any dealer in Seminyak they can get a straight deal?

I told them:
- Buy sim and credit for 50,000 incl 50,000 credit
Telkomsel simPATI sim cards
- enter the code 01017 before the country code to access the very cheap calls and texts to Australia
- Dial *888# <call> to check your remaining credit which is called PULSA - amount left shown in Rupiah

they have unlocked phones with them
