something that happened to us several years back.
My husband and I were going to Tasmania for a month with our son and we got our holiday money out of the bank the day before we flew out.
My husband had a specialist appointment at the Mounts Bay hospital in Perth a few hours before the plane left.
He had the money ($10,000) in his leather wallet/money holder and when he came out of the hospital he had a large envelope with scans in it as well as some other hospital pamphlets etc. He put the wallet on the roof of the car to unlock the car and put the other stuff in and forgot about the wallet on the roof.
He drove about a km away and was on St Georges Tce (busiest street in Perth LOL) when he realised he had left the wallet on the roof. Stopped at the traffic lights he got out and looked on the roof and the wallet was gone. He was frantically looking all over the road for the wallet without luck.
Amazingly 3 cars behind him was a guy he went to school with who had seen the guy in front of him stop his car at the lights and get out and pick up the wallet. He went to the car and got the wallet from the guy and gave it to my husband.
Later we had a laugh about the whole thing but jeez it could have been a really horrible horrible mess.
True story!
