Well have moved into the Grand Kumala. We have the presedential suite 1/2 and our friends are above in number 3. I haven't had much time here yet and can't wait to lie around the pool. I'll finish work on Friday. NO building noise last night. Got to love the rain sometimes!!!!The night before as they poured concrete, they worked until 12.30am. Thank god the rain came then, that was the noisiest night and the latest night so far. The presential suites ARE right next to the building site. I keep my bedroom window curtains closed, and therefore don't look out into it.
During the day, the noise doesn't bother us at all (mind you I haven't been there much. My family love it here. The room is extremely spacious for $93AUD a night 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms a large veranda, dining area and lounge room.
Cleanliness of the room is not the best. Floor always washed. Nothing wiped down though ever in bathroom or tables, but nothing I can't do myself with travel wipes.
Water given free daily. Breakfast area of hotel not big, and therefore lots of people can't come at opening time of 7.30am. You have to be quick for fruit as it runs out quickly and then you wait for it to be filled. Very basic, toast, juice, tea, coffee, eggs. Indo dishes.
Yesterday with work we went to Ubud. It is the busiest I have ever seen it. We were there in the middle of the day, and my guests all went shopping in the markets. I chose to go down the streets and into little boutiques. Went to a Japanese owned shop called Jam and Salt - unusual, but you could tast test the jams. Mango jam was great. I bought the Caramel butter jam. YUM. And I bought Salt that also had basil and rosemary in it.
I went to Cafe Lotus, took a couple of pictures and to the Accomodation attached to it, which was quite nice that some people had talked about.
Had lunch with group at Umas Villa and Spa - beautiful place.
Went to Tented camp in the rice paddies, owned by a dutch women who is a designer who has lived there for a year and a half. Incredible, Had high tea there and spent the afternoon and into the evening with the group I had. Occasionally she will open her house up for people to visit but very rarely.
Back to normal stuff with family, they ate great meals at zanzibar and Tjs, whose service is alot quicker these days in Poppies lane. Last night I ate with friends at Warung Asia - fabulous Thai food. My husband told me a few of them went back to Warung Murah for lunch and said food was still great on Jl Double 6.
Blue skies again.Off to work, Going to Moribato Art Villas close to Canngu for cooking class and lunch. Will update again soon.
