I understand that it is painful and inconveniencing for your mother but, even in Australia, the only compensation you would be paid for such a small incident would be the cost of your medical bills and maybe lost wages. If your mother is able to coninue with her holiday even if it is in reduced circumstances she would not be paid for another holiday. I think she is doing well to have her medical bills paid without a fight.
