Until the last couple of months, if you were a Platinum Qantas Frequent Flyer you could use the Qantas lounges no matter what airline you were flying that day. Possibly this is what one of the people flying Strategic's class of membership was with Qantas.
However, now, even as QF Platinum flyer, you must be flying on a Qantas, Jetstar, or affiliated "OneWorld" airline to use the Qantas lounge on the day of the flight, so flying Strategic would not get you into any of the Qantas lounges.
