I'd like to see where you will actually get US$1.03 for your dollar. By the time you pay commission, your US$ will cost you more. If you find somewhere that doesn't charge "commission", they will offer a lower exchange rate.
At the moment, you will get close to parity. The best rate exchange place where I am located is currently offering AUD$1 buys US$0.99. The best it's gotten over the last few days is US$1.01
I've been watching closely as I've just bought my US$ to pay for my hotel this upcoming trip.
