I looked into Travelex and they were better by about $10 (to exchange US$2400) than my local place. The trouble is, I would have had to drive an hour to the nearest store to pick up the money, plus another hour back home again.
In Wollongong (NSW) The Currency Exchange is the best option around. They used to be a Travelex franchise but went independent about 6 months ago. Cheaper option than any of the banks, post office or any other option in this area.
