I can't speak highly enough of this travel insurance.
I have used it for the past few years, travelling to Bali at least 3 times a year.
I always pay the extra $25 to not have an excess. We have only had to make one claim last year when my then 5 yr old became sick on our 3rd day in Bali, I phoned them and they put me straight thru to a registred nurse in Australia, who talked thru symptoms etc. I explained she was too sick to get to dr or hospital and asked whether we could get the dr from BIMC to come to hotel. She said yes no problems - dr and 2 nurses arrived they did blood tests for dengue and diagnosed her with tonsillitis, gave antibiotics and were very informative about the reasons for testing etc. We paid by credit card, which was alot but didn't care as long as our daughter had medical
attention. The nurse from TID rang the next day to check on our daughters progress
which I thought was such a nice gesture and put us at ease too. After 3 days on
antibiotics our daughter seemed nearly back to her normal self except on day 4 a rash
appeared all over her body !! We had had a terrible night also with our 20mth old so I
again was on the phone to TID explaining symptoms of both girls they suggested they
both be taken into BIMC to been seen. This time my 5 yr old was checked from top to toe- dr's very thorough had another blood test for dengue and was reassured the rash was nothing to worry about, it can come out after having high temps. Dengue tests results ok and was surprised that we got results sent to our hotel room within 2hrs. Unheard of here in Perth. Younger daughter had a check up said no signs of an infection yet !!! But within a couple of days I had the dr and this time 3 nurses out to hotel as my youngest had gone down hill and now my husband too !! Great this was the holiday from hell..... Both had roaring temps and tonsillitis - given medication and antibiotics to take. Had TID nurse ringing to check on both of them the following day. My husband just wanted to come home, TID also explained that if they couldn't fly because of ears etc all we needed to do was get the hospital to fax report to them and they would change our flights and pay for extra nights accomadation in Bali. We didn't need to do that as both started to improve by our last day!! When we returned to Perth I filled out claim form attached all the medical reports, medication and blood test accounts plus payment accounts to the claim and sent them off. We had the money in our bank within a couple of weeks. They were a fantastic company to deal with, and so nice to speak with an Australian RN when you are away from home and your children get sick. I would highly recommend TID to anyone . We were back in Bali for Xmas and New Year and thankfully no sick kids or hubby..
