If you are trying to get through a crowd or trying to get someone's attention a polite way to say excuse me is "permisi"
When addressing men older than you or roughly the same age as you always call them "Pak" (sounds like 'Puk' - but stop on the 'k' sound)
When addressing women in same manner call them "Bu" (sounds like "boo")
Permisi Pak, permisi Bu.
Excuse me Sir, excuse me Madam.
