I actually asked my bank (ANZ) about fraudulent use of Visa Debit cards including ATM transactions. Their reply (in part) was "ANZ will still protectyou from fraud transaction made via ATM. If you have transaction listedagainst your account from an ATM that are not yours, please report them and we can raise a dispute and have them investigated. If it is found you are not at fault and the transactions are indeed fraud, ANZ will return stolen funds. There are time limits on ATM disputes imposed by the bankingindustry, so always report them immediately."
