Hoping I don't bore you with my details. Here goes. Just got back from a week in beautiful Bali with my 21 yr old daughter and a girlfriend of mine. Weather from hot but not unbearable and humidity not too harsh. Four nights Ramayana, Kuta (opp. Kuta Art Market), great central location, 3 single beds in 1 large room, a little tight but fine, clean and fresh with a little balcony. Nice and quite at night, 2 pools, no swim up bar but larger more popular pool had bar very close and surrounding the pool the usual lounges and also a row of lovely comfortable cushioned couches. Breakfast was included, usual buffet, a little slow at times but lovely overall. Would definitely go back. We then move on to the Novotel in Nusa Dua, 2 nights, beautiful one bedroom unit. Large bedroom with king size bed and large lounge with fold down double couch. Balcony ran along entire length of the unit, lovely bathroom, also included a little laundry. Magnificent surroundings, lots of sunlounges, some doubles, all with sunshades. There was a Circle K out the back of the resort, but be warned, I bought a tube of toothpaste and was almost forced to buy more products. There was a sign near the cash register that read if no receipt is given your products are free. When I read this I thought a bit suspect. I think the worker wanted me to buy more products so that he could rip me off. He was very unfriendly. My girlfriend was not with me at the time, she dropped in on the way home to the same Circle K, brought a few things, she didn't read the sign and did not receive a receipt, noticed that he binned it and thought it strange. She went to pay, realized he was asking too much, she asked for the receipt and he stormed out and another worker walked in. He added up all her goods and gave her the receipt and it was less than half what she was originally told, scammers...................... Last night was at The Vira, Tuban. Nice smaller style hotel, lovely staff, clean and fresh. Little further away from shops but still on the main drag, Kartika Road. All three of us had a lot of laughs, did the usual, lots of shopping, relaxing by the pool and beach, eating, and mixing with the locals and other holiday makers. Had a night at Bali Beach Shack, very, very funning night. Friends and family have asked since our return 'what was the highlight of the trip'. We all have been going to Bali for between 10 and 25 years, not quite as many times as most of you, probably been about 10 times for me now. Our answer is 'Bali is the highlight'. Roll on June/July when I am hoping to go for a month.
