When we went on our first trip to Bali and my daughter was 4. We never had a problem with the kids getting sick at all- though 3 of the adults in our group had the trots for days.
We just washed their hands with antibacterial gel before they ate and gave them acidopholous and red cordial.
My son was still on a bottle so I washed them in normal water with detergent then soaked in miltons and rinsed in bottled water-no probs!
We had a such a great time with the kids there that we have booked to go again in May 11. I believe it is the best place to holiday with babies- you can go out for dinner and guaranteed the staff will cuddle bubs for you while you eat your dinner in peace etc!
Just our experience anyway- I'm sure if you decide to go you'll have a great time, though there are never guarantees on not getting sick- some people take all the precautions and still get ill.
