We have automatic travel insurance cover through our Westpac Altitude Gold Visa Card which also includes Amex. The only stipulation is that you must charge your travel airfare on your Westpac Gold Card. Three years ago, we had a big claim whilst in Bali. I fell and dislocated my elbow whilst in the hotel and the hospital (Sanglah in Denpasar) was just wonderful. Xrayed and reset the elbow under general anaesthetic. Everything was covered except the $200 excess and the money was in the bank less than a week after submitting the claim when we returned home.
