Good location, and I would have no issues with walking to and from alone. Warung Kartini close by for good cheap meals. Breaky wasn't bad but got a bit boring over a 4 week stay as any hotel probably would.
Stayed in room 207 which was a good size. Shower over the floor so the toilet tended to get a bit wet but not a big deal and the drainage was good..
Bad points though...
- The pool was dirty, as in green slime dirty. It got used by some but not many people went in more than once. None of us used it at all.
- Noise from the room above. My parents had the same issue in two different downstairs rooms. Heavy footsteps and furniture being dragged across the floor a lot.
- Noise from the cleaners sitting on the daybed outside the room chatting every morning and afternoon.
- Neighbours from room 208 using the table and chairs right outside my window at all hours. It sounded like they were in the room with me. I ended up getting the table and chairs removed in the end.
- Noise from late night, pre-night club parties at the upstairs breaky seating area, and also drunken returns to the room after clubbing including a crying/howling local woman at 3am when her beau told her to leave.
- While I didn't have too much noise through thin walls, my parents had a lothario next to them who would hire ladies for the night and they got to hear all about that, lol.
- They stuffed up my parents booking. Specifically asked for downstairs as my dad has bad knees. They were given an upstairs room with another set of stairs up to the bedroom. They managed to change to a downstairs room but had to change to a smaller room for the last week. Hotel refused to honour the old rates for the second room and charged the increased price. Room 202 is a tiny shoebox and not worth anywhere near the Rp330K they charge for it. They also had no fridge even though the original booking included a fridge in their room.
I wouldn't stay there again and think it was only just worth the old rates. It's not good value at the new increased rates. The hotel is just too compact and rooms too close together if you have inconsiderate neighbours. I had plenty of door slammers around my room too.
While two or three of the staff were friendly, most were not - until the day we were leaving as they knew we had toasters, jugs, plates, cups, cutlery, DVD player etc to get rid of. Unfortunately for them it all got given to other Balinese friends. :)
