iPhone (non-jailbroken) in Bali? Laptop?

Hi everyone,

I leave for Bali in 3 weeks (never been outside the U.S. before, excited!) and was wondering if anyone can tell me whether it's worth it to bring my iPhone with me to Bali - it isn't jail-broken.

Also I was wondering the same thing about my laptop, should I even bother bringing it with?

Currently I don't have accommodation anywhere (haven't booked) but I'm not sure how safe it will be to leave the laptop and/or iPhone at the hotel/hostel/whatever if I decide to go surfing for instance.
