are more often switched on rather than off no matter which company taxi you use,BUT, after many checks over the same distance i.e. from bintang back to my hotel i would NEVER use the grey coloured ngurah rai taxis ever again as they normally seem to run at least 20% faster than blebird taxis and yes especially in denpasar you might have to wait awhile for a bluebird to drive past but that is something I personally are prepared to do.
