Well here goes my first JBR, Second time to Bali in nine months Probably say im a convert. My husband and I flew Jetstar from Sydney uneventful flight,arrived about 9.45pm was out airport within 40mins which i was happy about after reading some wait times by fellow travellers. Our first 7 nights was at Peninsula Beach Resort Nusa Dua,we had a one bedroom apartment happy with accomodation,ate at most of the restaurants across and down the road all were pretty good, most outstanding would have to be Bumbu Bali, just beautiful both surroundings and meal.Our next 9 days was spent in Kuta as our three sons were coming over for a week as well. This Hotel was Satriya Cottages in Poppies 2, I have to say I was a little dissappointed with the rooms we chose superior, the bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation, their new deluxe rooms on the other hand are just lovely but at $120US/per nite ?? I guess the old cliche sticks you get what you pay for so for our $60US nite thats what we got, i did try to upgrade but place was booked out cos of Ramadan. In all fairness though the staff are pleasant and will do anything for you, the swim up bar in the pool is great,serviced all day, the location is great out the front your into shopping so that part I was in heaven. Went to all the shopping haunts Mataharis for cosmetics, Carrefours for bits and pieces, Bali Stone bought 3 statues, Geneva ( I was in heaven) Biarritz, Seminyak, shops are great as are the restaurants had a leather coat made at Ramadam Leather Poppies 2 really happy with that, Did the usual monkey forest,volcano thingy as we had some first timers with us, Ubud markets i love the atmosphere there, Bali Safari and Marine Park just wonderful time there definately worth a visit, kids went to Waterbom Park had a great time AHH where else TJs Poppies 1 great food,checked out Ketuts shop Garlic Lane, Posted 9kgs of shopping home by air post, so easy, post office near Bintang supermarket. Oh went to Denpasar and Ramayana Shopping centre have never seen so many shoes in one place before, hubby had glasses made at Optix Diponegoro very happy with them. All in all a great time which would not been possible except for the months of info i got on this site,writing it all down into my trusty Bali Bible.Booked to go back in March and July 2011, I think im hooked.
