Left Coolangatta on AA for KL.Flight was fine but 8 hours a bit much.Stayed at Concorde Inn in KL.Not flash but OK
Flight was delayrd by 30mins to Denpasar next morning and I was dreading the wait at the airport as I had looked up the arrivals and there were five planes landing within an hour of ours.We made up 10 mins and arrived at 12.45pm. Our flight was less than half full so we raced off the plane as quickly as possible. Got to immigration and thought we had taken a wrong turn. There was no queue at all.Was through and in a cab within 10 mins and in Sanur in 35 mins.
First time at the Besakih. Don't want to say too much as I want to be able to get in next time. We loved it.
Had been looking at the weather before we left and there seemed to be a fair bit of rain the week previously. Our 7 days-- hot and fine.
Restaurants we ate at.Bonsai,Little India,The Trophy Pub,Sale e Pepe,Char Ming,Swastikas,Casanoua,Mades, Had lunch at a place in Kuta which was great but I can't remember the name. Did not have one bad meal, and would go back to all of those mentioned.
Met Ron at his Villas, a great guy. Went to the Ducks Nutz a few times for a beer also the Sports Bar and Piccadilly
Got the sim card and DVD's( for the grandkids)from Hardys.Wife had her nails done on the beach out front.
Went to see Balinese dancing and to a silver outlet- wife got some earings. Usual shopping.
Went to Kuta for the day. Walked along the beachfront, but could not see the sea. I did not know that they had built a 12 foot wall(not sure how far it goes) but you cannot see the sea or the beach now.
I thought it was a pretty stupid idea.Even the locals think that.
As I mentioned earlier the weather was hot, and we made the big mistake of walking from the Besakih to the Cat and Fiddle at 10 am on the first morning. We were shattered by the time we got there( having stopped twice for drinks on the way)
It was our first time in Sanur, and we loved it. Have stayed in Legian before, and as much as I would stay there again, Sanur for me anyway is my preferance.
The flight back was once again rather long, however, at the price we paid it was worth it.
