I travel to Bali regulary and also for business. I started using a Travelex card after having my Debit/Credit Card skimmed of a large ammount of money a couple of years ago.
Agree that the rate may be a little less but people fprget that you also use a Travelex card for sercuity of not being able to acess your accounts via you card no. when it is skimmed or fraudulantly tampered with. My Debit card was skimmed when using it in a ATM in Bali and six months later transactions started hitting my account.
Visa International said people would never use their cards if they knew how rife this type of fraud was around the world.
Hence why I go with cash and my Travelex Card and only use my Visa Debit/Credit in an emergency and NEVER hand it over and let it leave my sight( creating opportunity for the number/signature to be copied. Sorry once bitten.
So as I say people who comment about the slightly less rate etc perhaps forget that one of the main aim of your Travelex card is the sercurity of your funds and the convenience of also having a back up card if one is lost or stolen. I personelly think thgis outways the slightly higher fee etc. Just my opinion anyways.
