Got back on 01/09/10 after 2 fantastic weeks in both Sanur and Nusa Dua. Have been to Bali 8 times, this being the first AWAY FROM KUTA/LEGIAN. We loved Sanur, but would most likely return to Kuta purely because it does have the best shopping and everything is so familiar. Found Nusa Dua a little too quiet and Sanur somewhere in the middle. If you want to go food shopping, head for 'Hardy's Supermarket. We stayed at the 'Sanur Paradise Plaza Suites' in the self contained apartments, so i'm wondering if you are booked in the same hotel. All the restaurants were lovely, but one I remember which stood out for value was the 'Puri Mango Guest House'....great snapper and so cheap on the main street and all the restaurants on the beach front great too. Although our suites were very spacious and lovely I really didn't like the location AT ALL, BUT can't blame anyone because this was pointed out quite clearly. If I ever decide to stay in Sanur AGAIN, i'd find a nice hotel on the beach front. It really was an inconveninece either waiting on the shuttle bus or trying to bargain for transport to the main road. Also, Jimbaran Bay is a short 10 - 15 minute drive away. Can recommend Lia Restaurant at Jimbaran.
