About 3 weeks ago we had dinner at one of our favourite spots - the Pantai in Tuban. Our evening was marred by the performance of an Australian woman buying those light-up balls from a seller on the beach.
When they couldn't agree on a price, she announced to her kids (loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear) that this man was too greedy and they would have to miss out.
'Negotiations' continued loudly for around half an hour with still no settlement in sight.
Finally she got very personal and abusive, questioning the seller's right to even be there and demanding to see his licence.
As well as being very annoying, as a fellow Aussie it was an embarrassment to watch. I'm sure in many people's minds it confirmed the Bogan Aussie tourist image.
A Brit on a neighbouring table was moved to yell out 'tight a**e' as he left in disgust.
