I totally concur with your view about the nature of these animals and am always fascinated by how they can frolic about on the beach no problem, but at a certain time return to their patch with a protective job to do.
I have the same attitude toward the cats and kittens around the place, and if I could free the barrow mans monkey it would be out of there too!!
