If you are breast feeding be careful to avoid eating or drinking anything acidic - eg anything containing pineapple, lemon, lime etc. Mashed bananas are good for a tiny tot just starting on solids - ask the locals which of the numerous varieties is best - when I was there for 6 weeks with my 4 month-old I relied SO much on local advice. The bananas I would've chosen were not suitable.
DO take a mozzie net (get a few metres from Spotlight) & spray it with insect repellent. Also, take some small scissors (but not in your hand luggage) to trim it so it doesn't touch the floor. Take a baby carry back pack as well as a stroller. Also take lots of toys for bub to play with in restaurants.
The water spray advice is excellent. Also take Papaya ointment from health food shops in case of rashes.
Balinese LOVE babies & constantly want to cuddle them - but do be careful. It's hard enough for adults to stay healthy in Bali.
