I have seen Indonesians playing a "form" of cricket on Kuta Beach and loving it (also beach tennis and I don't know that tennis is a local sport either)
Just because it's not a national sport doesn't mean that kids will not enjoy playing it and if the OP wants to buy them a cricket set, a baseball set, a badminton set, a train set or a tea set that's OK by me and full credit to them.
Are "draught effected children" those abused by being made to play too much draughts??
Should have bought them a cricket set.
