Ubud is always going to be a little cooler than Kuta, which means the pools are also not as warm. I usually stay at either Kajeng Bungalows in Jl Kajeng (budget homestay) or Ketut's place in Jl Suweta (homestay but with some more deluxe type rooms). Both have nice pools overlooking the ravine. I like the locations as close to central Ubud without being on the main street.
